About Us
The New Jersey State EMS Honor Guard brings EMS providers together from across New Jersey to honor those who serve, support families and fellow providers, and strengthen Honor Guard service throughout the state.
OUR STORY
Emergency Medical Services is a relatively young profession. While police and fire departments have generations of established traditions behind them, EMS is still developing many of its own.
Honor Guard service is one area where that difference is especially clear. Only a small number of EMS agencies in New Jersey have active Honor Guards, and for many, maintaining one simply isn’t practical.
The New Jersey State EMS Honor Guard was created to help bridge that gap by bringing providers together across agencies to serve as one statewide team representing the profession.
Above all, we are here to be of service to our fellow EMS professionals, their families and the communities that need us.

Our mission is to honorably represent New Jersey’s Emergency Medical Services community and support the people within it.
HONOR
Preserve the memory of EMS providers who have given their lives in the line of duty and ensure their service is recognized with respect.
SERVE
Represent the Emergency Medical Services community at ceremonies and events throughout New Jersey.
SUPPORT
Be there for families, loved ones, fellow providers, and agencies with funeral planning, memorial honors, and trained Honor Guard services.
STRENGTHEN
Share training, guidance, and support with agencies interested in developing Honor Guard programs of their own.

The New Jersey State EMS Honor Guard is a statewide resource for the entire EMS community. We work alongside existing Honor Guards, agencies, and systems, complementing the work already being done and providing additional people, resources and support when they are needed.

The New Jersey State EMS Honor Guard was founded by EMS providers with years of experience serving their communities and participating in Honor Guard service.
